My first thought would be to check the Media Lever Position Sensor
Q5669-60706 DesignJet Media Lever Position Sensor aka Pinchwheel lifter sensor

You can check it's function with an OHM meter.
The sensor can be found on page 7-14 in the service and repair manual.
Lower lever sensor error at paper load: paper loads and then displays "lift media lever" in order to reposition paper edge. Upon lifting lever (printer senses lever lifted), printer displays "lower media lever" but does not detect lever lowered. Message will not go away.
Entering service mode to test sensors (with paper unloaded) printer displays error 54:10 and 07:10.
I am opting first to replace media sensor.
Any suggestions?

Very important as we found out. Check the entire length of the carriage belt. It may look good, but can sometimes be a little stretched. They're cheap. Just replace it if you are unsure.
