DesignJet - Blue Print on Screen Prints out Purple on paper

HP Designjet Printers - Blue Print on Screen Prints out Purple
ISSUE:
When using the HP-GL/2 HP-RTL Designjet driver, blue text or images, as they appear on the screen, appear to print more "purple" than "blue" on the HP Designjet printer from some Microsoft (R) applications.
SOLUTION 1: When using the HP-GL and HP-GL/2 drivers this specific version of HP blue (0.0.255) is a combination of Cyan and Magenta inks. The Cyan ink is more efficient at absorbing light where the Magenta ink is less efficient at absorbing light and better at reflecting light. This causes the combination of these two inks, combined to create blue, to appear to have a purple tint.
To correct this problem, perform the following:
Version 5.35 and lower
Close all applications.
For Windows XP, click Start, Printers and Faxes or Start, Control Panel, Printers and Faxes. For Windows NT and 2000, click Start, Settings, and Printers.
Click to highlight HP Designjet printer. The printer name will be different depending on the model of HP Designjet printer.
For Windows XP and 2000, click File then choose Printing Preferences. For Windows NT, click File then choose Document Defaults.
Click the Options or Color tab (depending on Windows operating system).
Under the Color section, select Manual Color.
Click Color Control bar.
Choose No Color correction.
Click OK (and Apply, if available).
Click OK to close the Printing Preferences Window.
Version 6.xx and up
Close all applications.
For Windows NT and 2000, click Start, Settings, and then Printers. For Windows XP, click Start, Printers and Faxes or Start, Control Panel, Printers and Faxes.
Click to highlight HP Designjet printer. The printer name will be different depending on the model of HP Designjet printer.
For Windows XP and 2000, click File then choose Printing Preferences. For Windows NT, click File then choose Document Defaults.
Click the Color tab.
In the Color Management section, in the Color Matching Method, select Manage by Application from the drop down list.
Click OK (and Apply, if available).
Click OK to close the Printing Preferences Window.
SOLUTION 2: When loading media into the printer choose Semi-Gloss as the media type and blue will print correctly.

DesignJet 5000 Series Error Codes

System Error Codes
Introduction
NOTE Before troubleshooting System Errors, if possible, repeat the
procedure performed when the error was reported.
NOTE When reporting the System Error Code, make sure that you
supply the full Error Code and the firmware version (displayed
during the initialization process when powering ON the Printer
or available in the User’s Printer Setup Utilities Statistics
menu).
The following pages contain a list of System Error Codes and their
respective descriptions and recommended corrective actions. Only
try one recommended action at a time and check if the Error Code
has disappeared.
System Error Codes consist of two groups of alphanumerics:
[XXXXXX]-[YYYYZZZZ]
The first set of 6 alphanumeric characters consists of the System
Error and the second set of 8 digits, when present, refer to the
internal error data.
NOTE If the YYYY digits in the second set of 8 characters are zero
[0000ZZZZ], this indicates a LAN Card System Error. The last
four digits [ZZZZ] of the Error Code must be reported to the
vendor support organization:
For HP JetDirect Cards, this error code must be reported to
the iIPS Division Support.
For 3rd party LAN Cards, the HP support organization should
communicate to the customer that they should address it
through the 3rd party vendor support structure.
